Ruth Danielson founded Mulberry Street Market Intelligence in 2002 to provide comprehensive marketing and public relations strategies for business services providers, technology innovators, and educators. Through her prior career experience, Ruth saw efficiencies that were lacking in marketing-only and public relations-only firms, and she wanted to create a firm that would marry the two disciplines, leveraging her extensive experience in both arenas.
Ruth’s vision for Mulberry Street is to direct the agency toward representing clients with a compelling story and a greater-than-business purpose, while always remaining focused on the reality that creating sustainable, incremental revenue growth is a critical component of every marketing and PR initiative.
Ruth has directed revenue- and awareness-building marketing and PR initiatives in a range of industries including healthcare, banking and financial services, automotive, manufacturing, consumer services, public, private, and professional education, government, transportation, entertainment, retail, and gourmet foods.
Prior to founding Mulberry Street, Ruth enjoyed a 17-year career in community banking that included all aspects of retail bank operations, management of a remote data processing center, development of internal and external sales and related training programs, banking technology development, and bank marketing. Ruth also managed the internal communications and external PR through several mergers and acquisitions in the banking industry.
Ruth left community banking in 2000 to join a public relations agency serving the financial and technology industries. Ruth provided strategic planning services and directed the activities of PR teams that included media relations specialists, writers, researchers, and speaker placement experts. She also developed the agency’s sales plan and provided sales training and oversight to the company’s sales staff.
Ruth’s clients have included global giants like Oracle, Microsoft and Toyota Financial Services, as well as dozens small-to-mid-sized businesses and startups, subject matter experts, authors, and humanitarian organizations.
Ruth studied business with a concentration in marketing at the University of California at Santa Barbara and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She also studied at Allan Hancock College and Santa Barbara City College.
